Tired of making the same old A2 card base? Here is some inspiration I cased from fellow demonstrators. The highlighted sets I used arethe new ‘ Free as a Bird‘, ‘Good Morning Magnolia’ and ‘To a wild Rose’ stamp sets. Can’t seem to stop playing with these sets and hope you love them as much as I do. There’s so many looks you can get by mixing them up.
This first card is an easel-back card which is created with a base of heavyweight ‘Whisper White’ at 4 1/4 “x 11”.
On the long side of the base score at 2 3/4″ and again at 5 1/2″ which creates the fold for the easel. For the front of the card you can layer up pieces starting with a black cardstock cut at 5×1/4″x4″ Use the picture as a guide to see how the front was layered and attached up to the shorter score point . By attaching this way it will stand up like an easel and also fold flat for mailing (see pix.)
Die Cut a heavy weight white piece from the ‘Rectangle Dies.’ Stamp images then emboss on top with the ‘Corregated 3D ’embossing folder.
Add stamped images and die cut to pop up with ‘Dimensionals.’ Use ribbon and a die cut frame to finish the details.
To make the stop for the easel cut three layers of card stock with the same rectangle dies and glue together. Attach to lower portion of base after you embellish. Underneath the stop you can add a white panel for extra stability and writing space.
The second card is a flip-page design. Using the pixs as a guide this card is easier to make than you might think. It is similar to cutting three card bases and putting them together turning each base in a different direction to create the flip effect.
The back (or base) of the card is cut at 5×1/2′ x 4 1/4″. Layer up with a cut from the ‘Stitched Rectangle’ dies in a green.
Next cut a patterned piece at 9 1/2′ x 3 1/4″ and score at 4 3/4″ Fold at score line, center and attach to base. Stamp Sentiment on lower right corner.
For the third layer cut a piece of cardstock at 8′ x 3″ and score at 4″. Fold at score line and attach to second layer to the right side of layer two. (check out the pix.) You can add more writing space on the inside of this layer by cutting a solid pice of cardstock 3 3/4′ x 2 3/4″ and attaching on left side of this layer. Embellish with a blossom from the ‘Magnolia Lane’ designer series paper.
All the flip pages should be in place and you can add a sentiment, ribbon and more die cut buds from the designer series paper on the top side of the third layer.
So there you have it. A couple of designs that are fun and interesting to make. If you like these cards, please press like and forward to your crafing friends so they can be inspired too.
If you do not have a demonstrator to help you with questions or purchases, I would love to partner with you. Just drop me a comment.
