To a Wild Rose

Here are a few cards with simple variations: Either in stamping technique, embellishment, shape of card, designer series paper or framing technique. One card is  even made from a kit and comes together super fast.

All the cards feature the ‘To a Wild Rose’ stamp set.  It is a distinctive set which has three stamping layers and can give you a ‘photo-look’.    Some are stamped with two layers and at least one with all three.  Can you tell the difference?   The ‘Gorgeous Grape and So Saffron’ card has three layer stamping and shows off the photo-realistic element.

You really can have some fun changing things up just die cutting some of the pieces and popping up on your card for added emphasis and dimension.

Try taking a whole layer and backing with craft foam strips around the edges or cut your A2 card base at 41/4″ wide and 10″ long to make a top fold card. Just doing that gives your card a fresh look  . Add a bit of ribbon/twine/epoxy drops….hey wait a minute….add it all and just have fun.

Look the cards over and would love your comments.

These first two cards have two layers of black and white cardstock.   On the first card the white layers are stamped all around the edges.    Graduate the pieces using the ‘Stitched Rectangle’ dies.  Once cut,  use a water color pencil and smooth out with water to fill in the background of flowers on the smaller white piece.

Frame  each panel  with a black piece one quarter of an inch bigger.  Layer it all up and pop up the top black layer with ‘Strip Demionals.‘  Add your pieces to a  base and top with a bow and some  enamel dots.

The second card in this set is much the same with a couple of variations. Stamp only one white piece of cardstock and graduate with the ‘Stitched Rectangle’ dies.  Frame in black and prop us the top black piece with ‘Dimensionals.’  I love how the design flows from the smaller piece to the larger one.  Attach your layers on a black A2 verticle base which gives a different look.

Next, this purple card uses ‘VersaMark‘ink to stamp the outline on a piece of ‘Purple Posey’ paper creating a background design.   Taking a piece of gingham paper, cut it an at angle to cover the bottom half of the card, attact to the background piece  and lay a piece of ribbon over the edge to finish.   The rose and leaves are then stamped, colored and cut out.  One is popped up on ‘Dimensionals’ and a sentiment is stamped in the top right corner.    Novo drops or acrylic dots can be used to fill in the center of the two flowers .   As with the first set of cards the purple layer is backed by   craft foam strips.

Not much direction to give you on this card…Pretty straightforward.  This is a fresh and simple card to stamp, color and finish.  The background paper is from a favorite designer series paper called ‘Garden Lane.’

This last card was the easiest of all to make.  If you like to make your own cards but don’t have a lot of time you can use the ‘Magnolia Lane ‘large specialty cards & envelopes.  The base and enevlope have silver-lines and an envelope liner that just takes the card to another level.    Stamp the outline and any other floral pieces you like in ‘Early Espresso‘ ink and top with a flower stamped on ‘Whisper White’ cardstock …no coloring necessary.   before placing the flower on the  card  (with ‘Dimensionals’) add a piece of Whisper White Flax’ ribbon.  To make the foliage pop, stamp the outline in ‘Granny Apple Green’ ink and stamp the next layer in ‘Lemon Lime Twist.”   Take the ‘Magnolia Lane Memories & More’ card pack for the inside of the card and glue it in place.
